Aventis West Advisory

Terms

Terms of use

Effective October 31, 2026

Aventis West LLC, doing business as Aventis West Advisory, operates aventiswest.com. These terms apply to your use of the site, including the articles and the free templates. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

General information, not advice

Everything on this site is general information about grants and grant management. It is not legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice. Aventis West is not a law firm or an accounting firm. Reading the site, downloading a template, or contacting us does not make you our client. For advice on your own situation, talk to a qualified attorney, CPA, or other professional.

Accuracy and updates

We cite a primary source for each rule and date each article. Still, laws, regulations, and funder policies change, and an article may be out of date by the time you read it. We don’t promise that anything on the site is complete, accurate, or current. Before you act, check the cited source, the funding notice, and the terms of your own award.

Examples

Examples labeled as fictional are made up to show how a rule works. Any resemblance to a real organization is unintended.

Free templates

By downloading a template, you agree to these terms. You may use and adapt our templates for your own organization’s grant work, and for clients if you are a consultant. Please don’t sell them or offer them as your own product. The templates are provided as is. You are responsible for checking every number, formula, and statement before you submit anything, and for following the funder’s own instructions and forms.

No promise of funding

Funders make their own decisions. Nothing on this site promises that an application will be funded or that an audit or review will have a particular result.

Our consulting services

When we work with a client, a separate written agreement sets out the scope, fees, and terms. These terms don’t create that agreement. A free introductory call is a conversation about fit, not advice.

Links to other sites

We link to government sites, funders, and other sources so you can check what we say. We don’t control those sites, and a link isn’t an endorsement.

Limits on our responsibility

To the fullest extent the law allows, the site and its contents are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent the law allows, Aventis West is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using, or relying on, the site or the templates, including lost funding, disallowed costs, or audit findings. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for willful injury, or for a violation of law, or any other liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

If part of these terms doesn’t apply

If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, that part applies to the extent the law allows, and the rest of the terms still apply.

Your information

Our privacy notice explains what we collect through the site and how we use it.

Governing law and where disputes go

California law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any lawsuit about these terms or the site will be heard in the state courts in Contra Costa County, California, or, if it has jurisdiction, in the federal court for the Northern District of California. This doesn’t take away any right the law gives you to bring a case in another court.

Changes

If we change these terms, we will post the revised version here with a new effective date.
